The topic of 900 numbers came up today in one of my classes, and my students had a hard time understanding why anyone ever paid $0.99 per minute to listen to pre-recorded stuff over the phone. A lot of this is I'm sure that they don't ever use their phones for talking in the first place, and some of it is that in the age of the Interwebs so much information is free.
