Travel Advice

I could use some advice. I'm scheduled to fly out of O'hare in Chicago tomorrow morning at 8:50 AM, which looks like it will be in the middle of a snowstorm. I'm scheduled to arrive at the destination at 12PM, for a 6PM event. As of now, AA hasn't canceled the flight or anything. I'm wondering if I should be proactive in some way or another...

- I live about two hours south of Chicago and was planning on driving up tomorrow morning. It looks like I would be driving in the middle of a snowstorm. Should I consider booking a room near O'hare and driving up tonight before the storm starts?

- Should I just assume the flight will be cancelled? Or does a delay seem more likely? I'd be fine getting in late as long as I make the event.

- I'm about 2.5 hours north of STL, where it isn't supposed to snow. Should I call AA and see if they can transfer me to a flight out of STL?

Just not really sure what to do here, I've never been in a situation like this before. Any advice appreciated.
