I bought the Mahler exams today based on the majority of views shared here that the different look of the problems is very helpful. I'm not quite through the first exam and have to wonder how frustrating it's going to be on subsequent practice exams without having the additional sources he references after problems. Like after reviewing the solution to a problem and not being able to hang with either the new notation (that is different than ASM) or even the method used to solve, am I going to end up buying all the referenced sources to understand what's going on? Examples: "Mahler's guide to Buhlman Credibility", "Conjugate Priors", "Fitting Loss Distributions".
Not at all suggesting the tests are a great deal at $50 but to really get the most out of them I am wondering how much more $s this is going to cost - and if I should have gone with the whole Mahler package for C instead. Little late now to make adjustments for Feb. sitting but I am thinking of the next sitting, and the one after that....
Thought on that for those who used these practice tests?
Thanks.

Mahler but without Mahler?
