1Q: Carolina 14, Seattle 0
Half: Carolina 31, Seattle 0
3Q: Carolina 31, Seattle 14
Final: Carolina 31, Seattle 24

Seattle went down 10 with 6:04 remaining and down 7 with 1:12 remaining. They had a non-zero chance to tie and possibly win if they recovered an onside kick. They only lost by one possession.

Things to keep in mind:
Carolina nearly blew big leads against GB, NYG, and IND already this year.
When Russell Wilson beat the Steelers this year, he set the NFL records for most 4th quarter comebacks (12) and game winning drivers (17) through a QB's first four seasons.
Seattle was down by more points (12) with less time left against GB last year. They scored a TD, recovered an onside kick and went on to win that playoff game.

1Q: Seattle 7, Carolina 0
Half: Seattle 14, Carolina 10
3Q: Seattle 14, Carolina 10
Final: Seattle 31, Carolina 17

Carolina went down 14 with 12:53 left, 21 with 10:26 left, and again down 14 with 2:34 left.

With more than 12 minutes left in the 4th, Carolina didn't come within possession of Seattle for the rest of the game.

There is no way the latter is more of a competitive game than the former.
