Actuarial Analyst
Position Description
The primary responsibility of an Actuarial Analyst is to assist in actuarial consulting projects such as claim forecasting and unpaid claims and claim expense estimation. The responsibilities of the analyst include:
• Gathering, cleaning, and reconciling data
• Development of actuarial models
• Initial selection of actuarial assumptions
• Industry research.
We expect the analyst to develop client contact and management skills through the data gathering process and data issue resolution.
Qualifications
• A Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree with a strong mathematical background
• Superior analytical, mathematical, and project management skills
• Strong software and/or coding skills
• Commitment to achieving an Associate and/or Fellow designation (demonstrated by prior actuarial exam success)
• Excellent interpersonal skills; strong oral and written communication skills.
• Strong business acumen paired with intellectual curiosity
• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment with rapidly changing priorities and demands
• A high degree of self direction and natural leadership qualities
• Familiarity with actuarial studies (such as understanding claims triangles) is preferred but not required
