Battle of the Bands - Album Edition

Album Edition (AE) will be comprised of one round, which will run for 12 weeks. Participants will submit one entire album each. There will be no restriction on the number of people who can play. The contest will tentatively run from January 4th through March 25th.

Submissions will be due by 7PM on Sunday, January 3rd. Note that the submission requirements are significantly different than regular BotB requirements.

Submission requirements:
- The album you submit should strive to be an answer to a dear friend asking you, "I'm in a bit of a musical rut, what is your favorite album that I've probably never heard of before?"
- The artist can not have had any album chart in the top 10 of the Billboard 200
- While it is technically allowed to submit a band that has charted as high as 11, it is highly discouraged. The spirit of these rules and the meat of what I am trying to convey is this: don't let the BB200 discourage you from submitting something you truly think is worthy if you feel that most people haven't heard of it. I don't want anyone to submit Michael Jackson's Thriller, but I don't want to eliminate a band just because they've had minor fleeting success, either. Just try to stick with the spirit of the BotB rules is all I ask.
- No compilation albums
- No covers
- Bonus tracks may be included or omitted at your discretion
- Albums must have been released after March 24, 1956
- We will not observe the previously submitted band list for this contest

Submitting Songs:
- I prefer that you send me the mp3s via e-mail. Send your mp3s to battleofthebandsv@gmail.com {same address as BotBV, VI, and X}

Scoring:
- One vote per person (non-participants are encouraged to vote as well). No alt voting please.
- Each participant will have N-1 points to pass around (where N is the total number of submitted albums).
- Each participant may not allocate points to their own submission.
- Each participant must vote.
- Each non-participant will have N points to pass around.
- You may give any one album up to 4 points and are allowed to divide points up to one decimal place. There is no limit for the number of songs you may allocate points to.
- Comments are mandatory. You are highly encouraged to research Each band, get to know their history, their writing style, their influences, and your point allocations should have commentary to go with them.
- We will set up a "listen schedule" of one album a week and comment/listen/unofficially rate as a group on that album. This is not mandatory, but highly encouraged.
- Votes must be submitted in the last week of the contest (March 21-25 ; if problems arise, I'll accept PMs and distribute votes in the final week).
- The participant with the highest total wins.

If any questions or clarifications need to be addressed, let me know.

Good luck!
