Question to current actuaries regarding college study habits

Say you just finished taking one test in your actuarial science class. How and when do you begin preparing for the next test in that class that may be, say, three weeks away. Do you read and do a certain number of problems every night, or most nights? did you have a separate notebook for things that needed to be memorized? How much procrastination did you indulge in during college? I am asking because my methods are not working, and I want to know what the daily grind looked like for former college students who became actuaries. I may need to spend an extra semester at college if I don't adopt a tried and true approach to the advanced material that is required of aspiring actuaries.
