I'm sure approximately 100% of you will (including myself) will have your company pay for the trip to San Fran...but just in case you plan on staying a few extra days -
I clicked the link to reserve the Parc 55 hotel room for 5/19 - 5/21, and the website stated no lodging was available. So I tried to get a room for just 5/19, and a room was available for the block rate of 249. So I tried getting a room through the website without using the block rate, and a room was available for 5/19 - 5/21, with an advance purchase rate of 251. (Wow, what a deal on the block rate).
I decided to call the hotel just for fun since I thought it odd that the block rooms were all gone for Friday night, but not Thursday night, coupled with the fact that registration just opened.
They explained what I thought was true, the block rate for Thursday night was available, but not for Friday. However, they did have a room available on Friday at the regular rate of 209.
So...the obvious next question, I asked if I could just have the regular rate for both Thursday and Friday. They stated this was not possible, and that the 209 rate was only available on Friday. WTF?
At any rate, I took the deal I got over the phone.
