We are recruiting for a Senior Actuarial Analyst in the New York Region office. Our Senior Actuarial Analysts are integral in the delivery of a broad and diverse range of defined benefit and retiree health-related actuarial services to multiemployer clients. Our multiemployer practice is a dynamic and growing business and offers significant visibility, client interaction, ability to provide immediate contribution as an influential member of client teams, and the opportunity to learn and develop broad expertise in the emerging areas of the retirement field. The Role:
The Senior Actuarial Analyst works independently and on teams, collaborating with consulting staff, peers, and staff to provide innovative actuarial expertise to delivering consulting services to clients. Key accountabilities include: completing valuation and actuarial projects using advanced analytical and problem-solving skills; providing technical guidance to and mentoring junior staff members to include reviewing and checking their work for accuracy and completeness; participating on special projects designed to address emerging and/or unique retirement issues posed by client organizations.
Key Requirements:
The ideal candidate must have: a minimum of an undergraduate degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science or related discipline; completion of some actuarial exams with intent to attain actuarial accreditation; proficiency in use of relevant computer and software tools; demonstrated task and project management skills; strong detail orientation and organizational and analytical skills with ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines; excellent communication (oral/written) and interpersonal skills with ability to interact effectively with a diverse audience. A minimum of 3 years of pension plan actuarial experience within a consulting and/or insurance company environment and knowledge of ERISA is desirable.
