Job Summary:
The Specialist, Actuarial Services associate determines risk, makes pricing decisions and formulates employee benefits plans.
Responsibilities:
-Develops pricing models using mathematical modeling techniques and statistical concepts to determine probability and assess risks.
-Develops forecasts of expense and funding for employee plans.
-Evaluates the effectiveness of financial management programs that seek to control and minimize risk.
-Presents reports, explaining their implications to stakeholders, and advising on risk limitation
-Develop models for pricing risk based health products for populations.
-Support and develop pricing models for property/casualty risks.
-Collaborates with outside actuarial consultants to ensure they have the appropriate information necessary to accurately complete outsourced projects. Ensures plan status is accurate on data extracted from in-house administration system and passed on to actuarial consultants, responding to actuarial consultants' data questions, and reviewing data diagnostics/summaries prepared by actuarial consultants.
Education:
-Bachelor's Level Degree- Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or related field required
-Five to Seven years of actuarial work experience required.
